A lot going on here, think I gotta think on it

Seeing Obsession and now this, directed by a guy my age (Curry Barker) and a guy 6 years younger than me (Kane Parsons), and both of them being good is so cool and exciting and super inspiring. Backrooms as a premise is something that I think just makes more sense as shorter videos and YouTube videos rather than a feature film. Obviously the only way Parsons was gonna get a budget was by building off one of his YouTube series ideas that already having a proven track record and following, so it makes sense that he used this premise. And he took a difficult premise to make into a movie and made it work. The story and script are def not the strongest thing about the movie. But the vibes and visuals especially, and also the acting and music are all great. For me, good visuals and a well executed vibe can carry a movie. I can’t overstate how cool it is to me to see such young filmmakers doing such cool things. I’m not a huge horror guy so hopefully this can lead to giving young filmmakers opportunities in genres other than horror Edit: Also Renate Reinsve is maybe my favorite actress rn. Also I keep switching back and forth between 3.5 and 4. Gonna keep it at 4.

I meant to watch the other version, maybe I would’ve liked that more. Idk just not my thing, and I don’t think it’s as smart as everyone else seems to
