“If pretty woman was directed by the safdie’s” is a great description of this one. The idea that hustle culture in lower class setting creates an inability to treat anything as something other than a transaction is super interesting. Over the course of the film Anora breaks boundaries for her husband and at the end can’t tell what people want from her. Also the boardwalk scene is absolutely fantastic.
