Some of the best hype moments and aura of the franchise, the big set pieces also did not disappoint. I just thought the writing was so subpar, adding a time crunch to the whole thing felt unsatisfactory, as if the US would have a time estimate down to the second of when the entity could compromise foreign government's nuclear launch procedures. There was a lot of over the top, melodramatic dialogue as well, little of it coming from Ethan who felt like he went half an hour without talking at times. Nevertheless, Tom Cruise delivered on a solid action movie which was worth seeing in the theaters.

Maybe slightly disappointed by the meandering nature of this film but it does have some really interesting moments. Gould is great in a really titanic role which the movie is entirely centered around. It was cool seeing Arnold as a side goon for two minutes just to pull down his pants and take his shirt off. An improvement over Hercules in New York for sure.
