so this one has been sitting in my watchlist for quite some time now and so i thought today would be the perfect day to finally sit down and give it a watch and i’m glad that i did because this one was such a ride of some much enjoyment for me like i obviously knew that going into this one i was gonna find it to be a great film because i’ve seen plenty of dario’s other films and those were also some of my absolute favorites especially when it comes to the genre of giallo films he and mario bava are 2 of my all time favorite directors when it comes to that specific genre and them constantly making bangers after bangers like the cinematography in dario’s films are just so beautiful to me because he knows just how to have you so intrigued into the story that’s being told in all of his films especially with these range of different characters that were always being introduced to in them and the just how beautifully shot everything is like just how the camera is always positioned in a way where it gives these very amazing shots and also the color pallet that he has in his films where at times can go from being very dark to these then bright colorings which is one my favorite things but now onto the film and how the 2 main leads in this one were ones that i liked as a pair especially when it came to them being such comedic relief when they were with one another with them constantly bullying eachother which i thought was hilarious and made them all the more likeable ones in my own opinion but moving onto the kills of this film and how i loved each of them because sure they weren’t ones that we haven’t seen be done before but they were ones that were such eerie and dark ones especially with how before the victims are picked off the killer of this film likes to taunt them and play these very unsettling child’s nursery rhyme as they then sadistically murder the individual which i thought made the killer all the more evil in my eyes and then moving onto the killer reveal of this film and how i thought it was carlo who was the friend of the lead man and so they kind of made us the viewer think that it was him at the end with him trying to murder the lead man and him also saying that he was the one behind it all but in actuality it wasn’t him at all and so he then proceeds to shoot at the male lead and the police as well as he then makes a run for it where it is then swept up by a garbage truck because his pants got caught of it and it leads to this sequence of him being dragged to his death with him hitting his head on a curb and then the garbage truck stopping with us getting this very gruesome shot of the man then getting his head crushed by a oncoming car like when that happened i sat there and said damn to myself but it’s then revealed that he wasn’t the killer of this film but it was infact his mother who reveals herself as the killer and is angry that her son was murdered because he had nothing to do with any of the killings as she says and we then get a flashback scene of her and father basically talking to one another with the father suggesting that she should be committed into a mental hospital which she did not take to kindly to hearing and then proceeds to murder the father right infront of son which is then followed with us having the male lead of this film then finally put a end to this mothers rain of terror and so her necklace gets caught in the elevator as she tries stabbing at the man but the elevator then proceeds to move and it ends with her being absolutely fucking decapitated which was a perfect ending to me and i can’t believe it took me this long to watch this one when i could have seen it before but it’s whatever because this one became a new favorite of mine ♡
