man this film was one that touched my heart so much and one that i resonated also lot too because everything that the main boy of the film was feeling or going through was something that me and plenty of other young gay boys have went through in our lives and how much we feel isolated from everyone else because growing up all you ever hear is about how a man and woman should fall in love with one another and the have this gigantic family and how us young queer folks just didn’t relate or want that for ourselves but obviously in society homosexuality wasn’t seen as something good but rather something that was disgusting and perverted and that we should stay away from queer folks because they’ll infect you with their diseases or mental illnesses when those same things were just 2 people being in love with one another but because they were of the same gender society saw it as some mental illness when it’s not and that homosexuality is a very natural thing that is seen in every single species but homophobia is only seen amongst human beings and so growing up and seeing these films about a man and woman falling in love was just not something i looked at and related to and as a gay man myself i would have loved to see 2 men on screen falling in love with eachother like all the heterosexuals did in their romance films but sadly that wasn’t the case at all for us queer folks and also the whole part of the film where being a gay man is so isolating as i said before because when your gay you don’t get that high school romance story that so many of the heterosexual couples do and instead you often get that type of love at a much older age because not many people are open about their sexualities because of that constant fear they have inside of them where they don’t want to be hated by those around them or shunned away for simply liking the same gender which is so heartbreaking to me because i wish society was more accepting of homosexuality instead of trying to beat us down or even murder us just for our existence when it no way shape or form effects them but homophobes just always have to let it be known that they are absolutely disgusted by the presence of queer folks when we’re so sick of hearing about it like just keep it to yourselves and learn to leave queer people alone but i just wanna say lastly about this film is that even though the film wasn’t one where they both ended up happily together but instead one came out and the other was in fear of being looked at in such a negative way so if resulted in him still staying in closet which i still did love this film a whole lot and the ending as well because it showed that all a gay man really needs in his life is his female best friend because the 2 just go so well with one another ♡
