these coming of age films are always gonna do it for me like they always gonna have me just an absolute mess of tears by the very end of them and this one did exactly that what i really loved about it was how the film showed you everyone’s pov like first it was with the mom and how all she was trying to do was look at for her son and was extremely worried about him but didn’t know exactly what was causing him trouble and was trying her very hardest to find out what his problem was like she was such a wonderful mother who loved her son so dearly which this film showed me how hard it is to be a mom when you don’t know exactly what’s wrong with your child when they never open to you also the teachers pov with me feeling all kinds of bad for him because he had lost his job and reputation was ruined as well because a bit of a few misunderstandings when he was always there to try and find out what the problem was and was only trying to help not to mention how much he cared about minato and only wanted the best for him and also for yori as well and then we finally come to minatos pov with him trying to figure himself out and how he really wants to be close with yori but because of how badly all the other kids treat him he kind of does it just to try and fit him but we see that outside of school he really likes yori and doesn’t treat like how the others do in school but then again i kind of saw some queerness in this film with minato telling the principal that he “likes someone” and it was very obvious that the someone was yori we see this when he goes to house and yori tells him that “he’s normal now” and that he likes a girl and minato then tells him that “you were always normal” which absolutely shattered my heart because they were just innocent children who did nothing wrong at all and as for the ending i was kind of confused about it but then i saw it as a opening ending and that you the viewer can interpret it with however you want but to me i saw as them finally being free and getting to be their true selves because we see at the end that the blue fence that was once there was gone when they were running towards the tracks so i saw as they both had died in the mountain slide and were i’d say at peace now
