I am not quite sure that I can fully understand this film seeing as I am not a native English speaker, however I still found this film absolutely beautiful. Form the cinematography to characterisations. I thoroughly enjoyed Elizabeth’s character. She was strongly opinionated and definitely a girls girl, yet she wasn’t the stereotypical “I hate men, and I hate love” kind of character you often see alongside the opinionated woman. I also really liked Mr. Darcy’s characters. It was obvious from the get-go that he was enamoured with Lizzy, even though he was rather unsociable. I don’t know if it was the intention, but he definitely read as autistic to me (which gives bonus points with me bc I’m autistic) I really liked how focused on womanhood/sisterhood the movie was, despite it being a romance movie. My favourite scenes were the ones where the sisters were “gossiping”. And for once I actually really liked a straight romance. Huge props to Jane Austin for writing a (couple of) decent straight men On last comment: I was very pleasantly surprised by the use of the word “handsome” to describe women. I know it was common in the 1700 hundreds, and I enjoyed the accuracy.

Great message, and great actors. Obviously a little outdated, especially the usage of slurs, but overall a really good movie
