i love this movie to death omg. it remains (in my opinion) one of the most politically and socially relevant stories, especially now. i've always found it striking how the film tends to address the audience directly- especially the last scene, where emcee looks right at the screen before saying auf wiedersehen. the camera pans to a mirror, a very deliberate action, for though the mirror is warped what it reflects is clear: the audience of the kit kat club is full of nazis. the mirror shows not just a fictional reflection, but that of the watcher, and our society. aside from that cabaret has one of the most chilling and also egregiously misused scenes ever. tomorrow belongs to me is so frightening, especially as the actors put their heart and soul into singing it with such conviction. somehow the song has been co opted by the exact people the film critiques. where has critical thinking gone hello??? "screw maximillian!""i do.""so do i."

all around a great film and the way it was shot was so so so great. every detail in each frame is so meticulous, showing exactly what details need to be shown at any given moment. the illusion of it all being a continuous shot is really impressive and the visuals were stunning !! "you can't possibly make it that way, man! are you bloody insane?!"

when i say NOTHING could have prepared me for heroes by david bowie playing at the end. what a phenomenal movie

so many banger lines like "no fighting in the war room!!" but also the details are so meticulous, down to the signs by the base saying "peace is our profession" when the guys are clearly shooting at each other
