Lynch wishes he was half as good as Bergman Beautiful visuals, the best cinematography out of all Bergman movies I've seen. The play of light and shadow is gorgeous and mesmerising! My fav scenes are where Johan explains what "hour of wolf" is in complete darkness while burning matches. And the scene with a boy and Johan, especially where he performs that act of violence and the boy drowns, the contrast of colors is insane and adds up to this madness. Overall, great movie, imo top 2 Bergman movie. 100% recommended if you like David Lynch or Robert Eggers, especially his "lighthouse"
