I thought it was sweet

If I have to see Dave Filoni’s face appear on my screen one more time I’m gonna fucking crash out.

Unfortunately pretty disappointed in this. I had my expectations set high as I really enjoyed the first one and was interested in seeing the conflicts/character relationships it set up unfold. I think this one presents a lot of interesting ideas (Hathaway losing interiority as he’s forced to uphold his image as the figurehead of MAFTY. That conflicting with his personal desires and lust as he’s split between his connections with both Kelia and Gigi. His survivors guilt from CCA. And all of that compounding and crushing his psyche under the weight of it.) but they all end up feeling underdeveloped and muddled by the plot bouncing all over the place and not giving any of those things enough consistent focus. Also wanted to see more Lane Aim. We didn’t really get any focus on him until the final conflict where he has this huge blow up but it wasn’t built up to enough. Idk, maybe I gotta watch it again to get a better understanding but honestly I felt pretty bored for a lot of the first 2 acts Also while the direction and 2d animation is absolutely gorgeous and inventive, the cgi in the actual mobile suit battles just felt kind of weightless and really stuck out
