WTF IS HAPPENING

This is only the second film I’ve seen from Michael Mann, and he’s already becoming one of my favorite directors. I love the way he writes characters with a strict internal logic—people who live by a code and refuse to compromise it. Vincent here, much like Neil in Heat, doesn’t evolve in the traditional sense. There’s no shift in worldview, no moral pivot—just a complete commitment to who they are, There’s something strangely beautiful about that kind of consistency. It feels honest and real.  And visually, he doesn’t miss. The cinematography and music were fucking beautiful.
