Ms. Marvel
Iman Vellani is the perfect casting, there's no doubt. First two episodes are a ton of fun from the soundtrack to the story and the comic book feel of it. But the villain is yet again pretty underwhelming. It's existence is very questionable at times and everyone is constantly changing sides. So all we're left with is a decent Disney high school show with a tinge of lacking Marvel action and Phase 4 style CGI.
Generation Why - 4/5 (Great pilot, hope the rest is as consistently good as this)
Crushed - 4/5 (You had me at Feel So Good and Be My Baby, but add the charm of Iman Vellani, it's pretty great)
Destined - 2.5/5 (Start of the downward spiral this show goes into. An under-explained "villain" with little motive. Only good thing was the festive wedding)
Seeing Red - 2/5 (The guy Kamala meets is unbelievably lame and boring. The villains just convenient themselves to Pakistan when the writers needed them to. Nothing really happens and it's just disappointing)
Time and Again - 1.5/5 (Wastes half an episode on unnecessary backstory on two people who don't make it to the finale. Also some unexplained time travel bs happens and it's never acknowledged later. A trainwreck of an episode)
No Normal - 3/5 (Since the villains disappeared last episode, let's make the DODC the bad guys now because cops are based. This show should keep praying for the Khan family dynamic it has created because it's the only source of good comedy here. Excited to see more of Iman Vellani in the MCU, in hopes she'll leave behind the travesty that is the "villains" of the series)
