Author: George Orwell Rating: 10/10 Explanation: It's a very short book but each page is so rich that you're left satisfied with its striking themes around Stalinist authoritarianism. Despite being less relevant today, Animal Farm is still just as powerful, and the characters are so amazing, leaving the reader to constantly contemplate about what they're reading. And the final chapter is literal perfection. I was left speechless.
Author: Frank Hebert Rating: 10/10 Explanation: A truly extraordinary novel which transformed science fiction forever. Not only does Dune explore the rich themes of ecology, politics, religion, artificial intelligence, destiny, and more, but Dune also explores how each of those interact. Consequently, Dune is a truly dense and impeccable read, with so much substance.
Author: Frank Hebert Rating: 10/10 Explanation: An extraordinary continuation from the first novel. Dune: Messiah is just as rich as the first one, exploring conservatism, religion in government, identity, fear, self-control, inevitability, and more. Dune Messiah is an exceptional novel. Author: David Grann Rating: 10/10 Explanation: What an extremely well researched book that gives the viewer a compelling mystery. It feels so simple, but the David Grann expertly unfolds the story in a way that makes everything uncertain. Based on the true story, I couldn't put this book down. I was engrossed from start to finish.

Author: Chuck Palahniuk
Rating: 9.5/10
Explanation: With powerful diction that helps create perspective, Fight Club tells such an amazing story.

Author: Anthony Burgess Rating: 9.5/10 Explanation: The language used in this book is impeccable and truly feels juvenile (a huge theme of the book) and dystopian. The story is incredible. However, I preferred American ending (that's seen in the movie) rather than the English ending. It's still a phenomenal book though.
Author: George Orwell Rating: 9/10 Explanation: It's a harder read, but the final section of the book is pure bliss. 1984's themes of totalitarianism, order, and privacy are not only powerful, but relevant, and demonstrate Orwell's genius. However, perhaps it will be a more enjoyable read on a rewatch.
Author: J.R.R. Tolkien Rating: 9/10 Explanation: Impeccable worldbuilding, subtle themes, rich characters... Tolkien didn't only create a story; he created a world. And Tolkien took no shortcuts. I may have not liked the frequent songs and poems that were song throughout the journey. At times, The Lord of the Rings was a rough read, and it definitely took time to finish the novel. However, I have nothing but admiration for what Tolkien was able to achieve.
Author: Dan Brown Rating: 9/10 Explanation: The Da Vinci Code is such an engaging read. It's enthralling story made it impossible to put the book down. The Da Vinci Code always had me eager to know what was going to happen next, which makes it such a phenomenal mystery book.
Author: Stephen King Rating: 8.5/10 Explanation: I find the movie to be much better and more intriguing than its book counterpart, but Stephen King's The Shining is a great book. It's a story of redemption and the triumph of good over evil, no matter how perilous things may seem along the way.
Author: Ernest Cline Rating: 8.5/10 Explanation: Ready Player One is a great book. It mesmerizes the reader into the nostalgia-driven future, and with more refined storytelling than Spielberg's film and features a lot more subtext. It's also darker and it serves as a bigger reminder that online activity can have serious real world repercussions.
