This was probably my favorite of the three original Star Wars films growing up. I just loved all the high jinks they got into. Even now as an adult, this hits exactly the same. It’s funny, emotional, action packed, and a fantastic ending to my favorite trilogy ever. Darth Vader/Anakin Skywalker is THE best character in film history.

My main takeaway is that this film has absolutely no business being rated R. I kept thinking they were building to something more sinister, not just with the AI stuff which was pretty sinister to be fair, but physically as well. There’s absolutely no violence worthy of the R rating, which was a little disappointing. It may just have to do with the subject material around Susan’s character, which was quite troubling, especially when the other parents made so light of the situation. Sam Rockwell is great and the movie only really moves when he’s on screen. The backstories were nice, but they kept taking momentum away from the main story. I’m still a bit confused on whether or not they were in a video game or something like that, but I got the anti AI mission statement, so that’s good enough for me. At the end of the day, this was basically just a longer Black Mirror episode. Overall, it’s a fun and funny movie worthy of a trip to the theater. It’s also one of the coolest looking films I’ve seen lately. Very cool vibes visually. Sam Rockwell needs more work.

Amazing animation. These artists are at the top of the game right now. The beginning of the film was a little shaky for me, but once it got going I really enjoyed the ride. But I will never forgive this film for robbing us of seeing Dennis suit up.

Lots of genuinely hilarious bits and clever jokes mixed in with some genuinely terrible bits and middle school jokes. Might be my favorite stoner comedy I’ve ever seen. I love how it isn’t afraid of being absolutely ridiculous, while still making time (very little mind you) for sentimental moments. I just wish they dropped some of the fifteen year old humor like the blonde twins in the bathroom - it’s just unfunny, gross, and unnecessary. Still loved the film overall though, one of the best comedies I’ve seen in a while.
