Chime
A decent horror (long) short film that got me on the tip of my toes a couple of times. While the narrative was clear, I did miss something. It felt so empty, maybe that was intentional, I don't know, but I still expected something more that eventually just didn't come.
Chime is actually my first Kiyoshi Kurosawa film, while I do like his eerie style and suspense building, I hope Cure is more compelling. The emptiness and simplicity itself didn't bother me as much but the fact that there wasn't much to it kinda made me feel confused. A chime that compels people to commit acts of violence; while surely a great idea, I felt the execution could've been better.
Overall still a solid very short film / a very long short film that will probably haunt me when I go to sleep.
