Aftersun

While watching this I forced myself to come up with some kind of prediction about how the film will come to an end.Because that’s what we are used to. Hoping there’s some kind of reward or some kind of meaning at the end of a movie to justify our time with a film which is nothing new, so after watching the ending, I thought to myself  What the fuck  And then I just sat with it  For a couple days actually ( as Blake said) and I came to the conclusion of, this has no meaning and not everything has a deeper meaning. But alas I was wrong, oh so wrong. There is meaning, which you can only grasp after multiple rewatches. The film is filled with heartwarming and gut wrenching moments, it’s way more emotionally complex than one can imagine, there are also subtleties, visual and in the dialogue, which foreshadow the fate of the characters. So yea the film pays off only if you’re patient enough I guess or zealous enough to look up a video analysis, the ending will throw you off and make you think why did I spend an hour forty minutes for this, but I swear that one hour and forty minutes is worth it, Just go watch it dude.
