The Fifth Seal

People talking about morality and ethics in a bar is my favourite genre. But when you pair these conversations about morality with the time period of extreme fascism, it becomes a wholly unique, thought provoking, disgusting, introspective, chilling, thrilling, displeasing, and perhaps tickling your fancy, experience. At the epicentre of this weird, pretentious yet provocative film is, The Question. Which makes you wanna doubt everything you’ve ever believed about humanity, morality and virtue. It’s a question which will undoubtedly make you squirm unless you’re a psychopath. The question being - would you rather be evil or let someone else be evil to you. Theres a lot more nuance with the question but it’s sort of the gist of it. It’s an even more interesting thought experiment than the trolley problem imo. Gotta love the Hungarians.
