"Does evil come from within us, or from beyond?" When woven together and aligned perfectly the mixture of a grand score, beautiful performances, and breathtaking imagery is enough to make me shed a tear. I can't help but feel overwhelmed. It's what has always moved me most deeply in cinema. The convergence of art and craft and when you can visibly see the passion put into something. When art is meticulously crafted it can make you feel so small. Lily-Rose Depp is so mesmerizing you can sense her dedication. It's an example of how soul is created from passion. I feel I can't properly put it into words and explain why but there's something just so human about this performance in particular. This is legitimately one of the greatest performances I've ever seen. What I thought was going to be a casual watch as I planned on trying to catch up on some relatively new releases turned into this. I guess a reminder that there really is no such thing as a "casual watch.” I don't think I can ever forgive myself for not seeing this on the biggest screen possible when I had the chance.
