The Room
I find my review of The Room to be a quite interesting one.
The top review for the film is this, “I only trust people who rate this movie a full 5 stars or 1/2 stars. Anything between that is not acceptable.”
I know this review is a joke, at least partially I think, but I might actually agree with it.
I could not decide for the life of me if I wanted to rate The Room 0.5 stars or 5 stars. I don’t think I’ve ever had such a feeling before. I THOROUGHLY enjoyed the film. I mean truly, I don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much watching a film. But that’s not the intentions of the film which is where I considered rating it 0.5 stars.
It’s pretty easy for me to find redeeming qualities in any film I watch. I’m not a harsh critic at all. With that being said I’m pretty positive in my reviews, only noting the things I enjoyed. I hate using this word when talking art, but this was undoubtedly the objectively worst film I’ve ever seen.
So after all things considered, I chose the 5 stars because I feel it’s more true to me if I’m trying to rate films on enjoyability.
