“Will god forgive us?”
This is so unbelievably tough. The cinematography and blocking are perfect it’d nearly impossible to find anything better, every single shot feels intertwined with the story and holds its own meaning. The ending was very unexpected but hopeful, at first I thought it was a vision but it does make perfect sense for Mary to go check next door for the guy she traveled across the state for.
That low grumbling shit that kept on playing was like thriller heaven it had me so on edge. The darkness with in which the potential climate crisis is presented is something that should not be as uncommon as it was. This feels like what ‘Don’t look up’ was trying to get across yet with 1000x times better delivery. This is something both climate denier Christians and radical environmental activists need to see. To not be ignorant towards the destruction of gods creation, but not to succumb to the despair felt by it.
“Wisdom is holding two contradictory truths in our mind, simultaneously, Hope and despair. A life without despair is a life without hope.”
