Will & Harper
I recently watched this after my film studies teacher told me it was one of the best documentaries he’s seen on trans right ever. So I watched it as the only trans person in his class. I cried for a whole hour after it. The way this is made is so realistic rather than it being some HEARTSTOPPER bullshit that’s all rainbows and sunshine. Will comes across as super supportive but the film also explains how it can also be hard to adapt but just because it’s hard to adapt doesn’t mean you shouldn’t try, especially if it’s something that’s gonna save someone’s life. The parts in the bars with the trump flags made my heart drop, as a trans person it is terrifying knowing that even going out and meeting the wrong crowd can cost you your life. I am genuinely so happy to see better trans representation in documentaries, especially with someone like Will Ferrell, who is very influential to a number of American citizens.
