Wow man literally such a beautiful movie. Id say the “coolest” movie I've ever watched. Idek what exactly that means but I just felt everything in this movie was so just stylised, cool, smooth. This is some of if not the most unique cinematography I've ever seen in a movie, the shots are so creative and cool, i genuinely love the neon esque style. And it was for sure my favourite soundtrack for a movie ever, every background music just had me feeling so nice man. (Im really bad at remembering these character names so just gonna say by the role:) Honestly all the characters felt so imperfect, messy, small, but so real. The movie does so well at showing the fears, how even surrounded by people you can be so alone. The hitman says he never wants to decide or arrange anything, having the partner do everything for him so he never has responsibilities of his actions. The partner herself does things like clean his room, set his outfits, literally look through his trash, but never actually goes to talk to him in the fear of rejection. The mute hides behind silly little actions and gestures the whole movie to not face or show his loneliness. People keep distance from each other because it feels safe but it also leaves then feeling alone and hollow and it's shown so damn well. But the movie isn't all about that ofcourse. It also has heartwarming, touching moments. Fleeting moments showing that humans somehow, in any way, do end up in some relationships no matter how hard you try not to, even if they're brief, short, forgotten not long after, but while they're there they're real and they feel good. The father and the mute was such a great relation throughout the film, the tape scenes were so damn good, and then seeing that scene of the father later watching the tape “secretly” just made me so happy. And when he died it was really sad. We also had the mute and Charlie(i think her name was that??). It was him falling in love for the first time, them having a real, deep relation, connecting with each other, helping each other. But it's forgotten, Charlie leaves and completely forgets him, its just kinda tragic how temporary that really real relation felt. Ofcourse we have the hitman and the partner, never once met physically in 155 weeks of working together due to the nature of their work aswell as their own personal fears and yet the partner had such deep passion for the hitman. It's unfortunate how it ended up, the movie really makes you wanna see a happy, or atleast decent ending between them both but it ends on a sorta bitter note with the partner setting up his death, really showing the level of devotion she had for him and the level of loss she felt when she couldn't have him anymore. And then the final scene is just **so damn good.** The stories fully interconnecting as the partner meets the mute. The scene is literally only just a ride home, the movie ends there but you know it probably didn't lead to anything else, it was just that, a ride home, and still that's completely fine because in that moment both of them who had lost important people, found each other, and even if only for a moment found warmth in each other, it's so brilliant. Really The movie isn't about a specific plot or story, it's about the mood, the tone. The moments of loneliness and fear of loss of rejection after trying to build a relation. And then the really beautiful heartwarming moments of how that rare connection you just have with someone makes you feel no matter the amount of time. Again, so uniquely shot, my favourite soundtrack of all time for a movie, amazing film.(I know ive written a lot but genuinely felt so much and had so much to say after this shit) 4.75

Im genuinely just never gonna recover from this movie, like ever. The movie really DOES NOT HOLD BACK on showing how truly terrible and brutal war is. Genuinely, no piece of media has ever made me completely hate the idea of war more then this. My heart literally hurts, you know how the movie's gonna end and it still makes you completely heartbroken. I have never ever been more devastated at a film ever. “Setsuko never woke up.” literally broke me. And id already cried like twice before that. Fuck bro why did i watch this movie, I've never felt so empty and so fulfilled at the same time. This movie literally hurts to watch, and for the complete, utter masterpiece it is I'm never even touching it again. “Why do fireflies have to die so soon?” - Setsuko

Chill lil watch before bed😇

This is genuinely the worst thing I have ever watched
