What is the defination of reality, or freedom, or guilt, or truth, or love?
Cary Fukunaga tried to explain all these whimsical terms and emotions with his product which will be remembered quite respectably in both the lead actor's career.
The story is set in near future dystopian world where the concept of loneliness and other neurotic troubles have now became a blooming business. You can pay for "fake-friends" for fake compassion, people are more and more dependent on therapists to cope with their distorted reality. We follow the two protagonists who signed in for a drug trial test, and then Fakunaga instantly pulls us into a quest in search for redemption, love, friendship and compassion.
The show is beautifully designed and spectacularly executed with a near perfect cast. It clearly succeeded in giving us a journey from guilt and remorse to redemption and joy. Also as many people said it's definitely looks like a love child of "The Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind". A must watch for all the sci-fi and romantic drama fans. It's a treat, don't miss it.
