Chungking Express shows us the confusing feelings of love, how people cope with break ups and how they will eventually manage to find new love from unexpected places. First story lost his girlfriend of 5 years, then found love again to a drug trafficker unknowingly, while the second got broken up and refuses to give closure on it by refusing to open the letter, found love again to a weird and strange woman who helped him slowly move on by changing the old and decrepit items he refused to get rid of, to new items.
