Dead Ringers
Elliot and Beverly were inseparable and they needed eachother (Film)
That’s what the movie is about. That’s the backbone of the story,
soo why do I get the feeling that Elliot and Beverly don’t even like eachother in this remake.
They’re twins; yes and they do have twisted relationship, but Beverly was completely fine without Elliot, yes she was in a fulfilling relationship, but still were is the doubt, the fear and the anticipation
Beverly in the movie had doubts and was frightened, that he was gonna hurt his brother. Beverly in the series, was also scared but far less affected by her sisters absence
For me it was lacking the absolute gutwrenching codependency, that was shown in the movie
I mean they (series) rarely agree and keep secrets from eachother… Beverly and Elliot in the film would have never done that idk
I know they were trying to retell the story, but it feels so different that I don’t get why they didn’t just tell a complete new story

But I do really like the new “feminist” direction and I especially love Beverly’s view about birth because I’ve always felt similarly.
It’s so absurd that we can basically die, get ripped open, become traumatised or get affected by psychological trauma, just because we want a baby of birth a baby like what absurd trick of nature is this?
