Prisoners

100/100 Pray for the best, but prepare for the worst. Denis, damn. Once again, Villeneuve shocks me with another fantastic film. It is violent, gritty, riveting, and had me at the edge of my seat for the entire two and a half hour run time. There is so much atmosphere and suspense wavering throughout this watch. It also helps that the cinematography is absolutely phenomenal, shoutout to Roger Deakins. Also, the performances are incredible. Gyllenhaal, Jackman, Dano, and Davis all do incredible jobs. Denis Villenueve is incredible with his direction. Making you question every single character and their actions. The reveals, twists, and ending all flowed very nicely. Overall, this was a fantastic watch that is well-acted, beautifully shot, and was engaging from beginning to end.
