I have a better taste in films than you. xoxoxox Side note: my two favourite films are La La Land and Mulholland Drive. The other 3rd slot is the latest release I’ve given 5*s to and the 4th is the same but for an older film that I’ve watched recently.

Manchester if it was shit 😬 Haven’t seen them all but I reckon this is the best Best Actor Oscar winner of the 2010s 😍

Imagine being able to flex that you were the guy who got his naked behind out during the sequence in Aeaea?!? Better on a rewatch, I’ve come to realise that my issue with the film is that Nolan doesn’t write characters well (or anywhere near as well as he can write/direct a good story). Most characters are undeveloped (especially the women) but thankfully the themes, spectacle and craft pull through!

Could they not have just gone back where they came from? 🤡🤡🤡 Epic storytelling for sure! Amazing visuals, great directing and ***some*** good performances (no surprises there). With filmmaking this grand, it almost feels unfair to judge the screenplay too harshly. While I think the overall story and its themes are impressive, most of the credit for that belongs to Homer and the many translations of his work. On a line-by-line basis, though, the script is mostly just serviceable and emotionally cold (typical Nolan). With writing on the level of Dune or The Lord of the Rings, this could have been an all-timer.
