yes. it took me 1 month to write something about this movie. im having the busiest life ever and yet i cant stop thinking about this one.
im gonna start by saying i am so glad i randomly decided to spend that evening alone at the cinema watching this movie because it was the best last minute decision i could ever take. as a theatre and cinema student who dreams of working in theatre and sees the world cinematograficalky this hit deep.
I remember talking to a friend about this movie a couple of days after i watched it and she told me that there are no protagonist here because the main character is the house. i loved hearing this. and I really wanna start from this.
this is not only the story of an absent father. this is not only the story of two sisters and the different way they grew up. this is the story of a family. and it gives you a 360° vision of these people in a way i personally never experienced in cinema.
i went inside that theatre without knowing anything about this movie and i related to Nora for the first part of the movie to a very personal level. then the rhythm of the story got more intense and i connected with almost everyone.
it’s very rare for me to feel so attached to a movie while im watching it, it usually happens after. but these characters felt so human, so real. i was sitting in that chair, feeling exactly what they were feeling and silently hoping the movie would never end.
