In Waves

It was beautiful. No words are powerful enough to describe the emotions this movie gave me. I was so glad it was an animation because it brings another perspective to the story, and the way it’s told. I feel like I truly got in the waves with the characters through the drawings and that was just magical. I cried, I did, and the story was definitely heartbreaking ( even worse when you know the it’s the real life story of the movie’s director ) but it was so magnificent, I couldn’t stop smiling ( well expect eventually when Kristen was suffering and dying but anyway ). I loved the fact we had some sort of flashbacks, telling the story of the original surfing people from Hawaii, making a contrast between Kristen’s passion and its origins. Let me tell you that teenage romance NEVER go as well and easy nowadays but it was fun to get taken by the waves of their love, innocent but yet so profound and deep, mature and… beautiful. It was beautiful.
