[**Recommend me a movie list**](https://boxd.it/UnkE2) I follow back and rate purely off personal preference

They have no idea how much damage the “are you coming to the tree” song did to Real Madrid social media The Peeta glazing is still a little much for me, but he wasn’t in this a ton so that helped. I’ll still never be sold on their relationship, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying this movie. And gale needs more love, I’ve seen so many people hating on him and I just don’t get it. He did have one shaky moment where he was too critical of peeta but besides that he’s fine. Plus he was the first to volunteer to go save peeta. Effie was also fantastic as per usual This movie was very “part 1” cus it’s a lot of set up, but that’s not problem because that’s exactly what it’s supposed to be. I just hope mockingjay part 2 can capitalize on this. Nothing in this movie was as crazy as the good stuff in catching fire, but once again, it’s good lead up for a finale. However, I better see wayyy more finnick in part 2, because the lack of meaningful finnick screen time was devastating. Overall, good solid movie. Ranking so far goes: 1. [**Catching fire**](https://boxd.it/eovImZ) 2. Mockingjay part 1 3. [**The hunger games**](https://boxd.it/edbB6B)

“I think it’s nice that we share the same sky” **cries in Scottish** That was so beautiful. I’m never watching this again… but still beautiful. This movie is so deep and personal that I honestly don’t really know how to review it. The last time I felt like this after a movie was with Beautiful Boy. Similarly, I think everyone will have a different emotional response based on their own life experiences. Personally the scene that got to me the most was when Sophie had all the strangers sing for calum on his birthday. It was just so sweet and loving. Anyways, go check up on your loved ones, you never know what people are going through on their own.

Why is there a movie interrupting my 2 hours of listening to blow horns go off??? This was trippy. Is this what it’s like being high? I’d imagine so. Perfect casting to have willem dafoe and Robert Pattinson just go absolutely insane. Dafoe using those big crazy eyes like he did with green goblin really helped to sell everything. Honestly wished I liked this movie more considering how much I love both of those actors. Their chemistry was top tier I will say, while I appreciate how artsy this movie is, it did get a little too weird for me at some points. But I understand why some people **love** this movie because if this kinda weird is your kinda weird, then yeah it would be perfect. Everything with the mermaid was odd, and I didn’t particularly enjoy seeing Pattinson tell willem dafoe to bark. And Willem dihfoe straight up jorking it above Pattinson is yet another thing I thought I’d never see. Again tho, I really commend Robert eggers willingness to think outside the box and be unique with his style. That’s what really sells this movie for me. If some mid director did this movie with this plot it would probably be like 1.5/5 for me. All the jarring cuts, the more condensed framing, crazy sounds all helped me stay engaged. I felt like I was watching something completely new, and that counts for something. Even if this wasn’t really for me, I think the directors willing to get ballsy deserve credit

The godfather if it didn’t insist upon itself Yet another win for Japanese cinema. This was genuinely a masterclass of color in movies. If movies can be this vibrant in 1966, then movie nowadays have no excuse. Every time they got someone walking through some crispy white snow, it’s just sensational. Also had some great action/shoot out scenes. There were just a few scenes that kinda lost my attention, but overall still a very fun time. Shoutout [**aebalasj**](https://boxd.it/7G4Al) for this recommendation! If you’d like to recommend me a movie you can comment on this list, I’ll add it and eventually give it a watch.
