Full Metal Jacket
FMJ is a perfect film, it is gorgeous, Jokers morality is insanely interesting, and it has an enticing story from start to finish. despite this, i don’t know if it challenges me enough. I just feel like this film is, “look, here’s this great thing, hope you enjoy”, but not really anything special. It definetly has a kubrick touch, I can tell he was involved in every small aspect of this film, but i just wish it was doing more. It is absolutely saying plenty, and i fully see why kubrick won’t call this anti war, because it’s not, It is just people doing things. And I actually like that, because it is somewhat unique. Despite this, I do want a bit more out of this film, i want it to challenge me more, idk what my problem is, it’s just some part of it. Still, it is a perfect film, and I think it does deserve 5 stars.
