Nosferatu
Atmospheric, faithful, inconsistent, bodily autonomy, operatic, self-aware. These aren’t tags, it’s every single review of this movie concentrated into eight words. I think that everything on the visual end is the current peak of filmmaking, it’s feels super modern and skillful but everything on the written end still feels like 1922. It comes across as uninspired and melodramatic. The characters and their story didn’t connect with me in the same way that the visuals, the music, and the fx did. TLDR: vibes off the charts. Feeling very mixed, lots to like but the emotional core is weak, even if Ellen and Thomas have a cute arc where they learn to accept her weird.
