Hamnet
completely ruined my make up crying. spectacular performance by paul, dare i say his best. who is the child actor and how is he so amazing? the portrayal of grief in this movie is so different than we are used to. it is not forgotten or buried, but it lingers. the tragedy feels so intimate rather than literary. i absolutely fell in love with agnes. she is such a realistic and well written female character. her pain is not romanticized or beautified, which i also am greatful for. it could be said that william is kind of villainized in the movie, which l appreciate. he’s ambitious, restless, kind of an asshole and he is pulled toward something bigger than the life in front of him. visuals of the film compliments the tone very well too, helping the ambience. overall, amazing film but i'm not sure if i could watch it again. absolutely beautifully devastating.
