Persepolis
The reason I watched this movie was, I read about a graphic novel by Marjane Statrapi on some forum I don't remember, and it was what intrigued me to watch this movie. This is a 10/10 movie about what happens to both personal and professional life of someone who belongs to a country where wars and unjust elements like patriarchy and stereotypes are frequently seen. This movie not only focuses on the history of the wars in Iran, but also gives us an insight on the personal and professional life of the main protagonist, Marjane Statrapi (the one who has also directed and written this masterpiece). Yes, you heard it right. It's a masterpiece! And it's a must watch!
Also, one thing I really loved, is how Marjane takes a really humorous and refreshing take on her tragic life story. She is very witty and very relatable as a person.
