Tumbbad

Tumbbad, the Indian folk horror, serves its glory of giving the mind-fuck with not only giving the shock-value to the audience by making it sit through the scenes where people's flesh are literally being eaten, but also by introducing its really flawed characters and their immorality that makes you annoyed. While all Indian horror movies look forward to a surface-level exposition and body-horror, this one is an exception. This is the true cinema. The movie also includes themes like extramarital affair, betrayal, greed, lust, etc. And every character has this mindset: "The money is the only motive", which leads them to a really dangerous path. The whole movies gives an unsettling experience. Sadly, movies like Tumbbad don't get enough recognitions, as do other generic Bollywood movies.
