Dune: Part Two
An absolute experience on every level, on par with the gravitas of LotR or The Dark Knight. There is a world in which I love this movie even more and it is one where the Islamic elements (e.g. through casting and dialogue) are used to make a more explicit statement about colonial and exploitative power dynamics, and less so about the seductiveness of cults of personality. I think the desired outcome of making us uncomfortable with Paul is a bit tarnished by the lack of an answer to the question "what else should they have done". This is, in my view, the one inherent flaw, and while it is unfortunate, the crawling uneasiness with which we cheer the violence distracts from it quite succesfully.
Your breath is absolutely taken away whenever an element of supernatural grandiosity and with absolute technical perfection rises through the dust. Far better than the first one in cohesiveness and flow.
