don’t know how i’ll ever see a movie in a non-imax theater now. truly an insane experience. the odyssey and dune 3 can’t come soon enough. as for the film itself, a very good and fun time. gosling is cast perfectly, his charisma and charm really shines through, especially as he’s acting against a literal rock. obviously rocky stole the show, and his and grace’s friendship is the highlight of the film. visually very impressive, although not fraser’s best work. it has a couple of big moments, but really shines in its intimate comedic moments between our two protagonists. i will say it takes a little bit to get going, and i would have loved a bit more stakes, explanations of the ramifications on earth. it also maybe relies on its comedy a bit too much in its deeper moments, but overall a very amaze(ing) time 👎

fuckin hell. 17+ years later and what has changed? movie itself is very good, coogler tells a powerful, raw, emotional story with a stellar performance from MBJ. creates such a strong mix of anger and sadness inside that just leaves you feeling empty. what’s that one NWA song?
