Hereditary

This is easily the greatest horror movie I’ve ever seen. Everything is amazing. Toni Colette gives the performance of a lifetime here. Really all the performances are Oscar worthy performances which begs the question: Why weren’t they nominated for any? Also the pacing and the story is so crazy good. The buildup and score is fantastic and then I was genuinely disturbed for the last 30 minutes of this film. The ending unfolds perfectly for me as well. I have never felt that way about a movie and I am thanking Ari Aster for that. He is changing the game and setting anew bar for horror as far as I’m concerned. His style is near flawless in my opinion. The shots are all perfectly placed in my opinion and the cinematography just draws your attention every time and I love it. I have never seen a horror director utilize fear so well WITHOUT jump scares. I’m amazed. I walked away from Midsommar only wanting more and now I’m doing the same with this film. I cannot say enough about how impressed I am and I cannot wait for Aster’s next movie later this year.
