Prisoners

I had forgotten so much about this movie. I remembered very quickly why I love this so much. There are so many technical perfections that throughout the watch, I was just consumed by the story. I was in complete awe yet again by Denis Villeneuve’s cinematography. The complimentary shots throughout the movie that make you draw connections are so fantastic. I love the plot and how thick it is with true mystery. The story is so perfect. The way everything connects itself is so intricate and smart. The acting is obviously some of the best ever. Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman absolutely killed it. I think Paul Dano’s performance goes under appreciated sometimes. The pacing, while some find issues with it, was fantastic to me. I have only one gripe with this movie and it is the lack of explanation of motive from the killer. Other than this, I feel like this movie is perfect.
