Grown Ups

one of my favorite comfort movies ever and i don’t even care what anyone says about it. every time i watch it i instantly feel happy again. the movie just has this warm nostalgic feeling that makes you wanna spend summer at a lake house with your friends and forget about everything for a while. the best part is definitely the chemistry between the cast because it never feels forced. it literally feels like a real group of lifelong friends just hanging out together and making each other laugh the entire movie. adam sandler, kevin james, chris rock, david spade and rob schneider were all perfect together and every interaction between them felt natural and funny. i also love how simple the movie is. it’s not trying to be deep or life changing, it’s literally just about friendship, family, growing older, and having fun with the people you love. sometimes that’s all a movie needs to be, the jokes are dumb in the best way possible and even the random scenes somehow become memorable. the lake scenes, the basketball game, the waterpark, the zipline scene, everyone roasting each other nonstop. literally everything about this movie feels so fun and comforting to me. it reminds me of old summer movies from the 2000s where everything just felt happier and less serious. honestly this movie feels like a big hug to me. i could rewatch it a hundred times and never get tired of it.
