Bully

Maybe I was insane for putting this off for so long, but I think it was perfect timing again. I always felt Harmony Korine and Larry Clark’s vision so deeply—what they do is beautiful and full of life. I try to see their flaws for what they are, but I guess I have a hard time pondering what goes on behind the camera when I’m immersed in the movie world. If I judge Bully for just what it is, I can’t help but be mystified. The characters are beyond convincing and deeply inspiring. The world-building is truthful and passionate. I didn’t know this was a real story, so the ending was devastating. This film will stay a highlight in my life—I will go back to it again and again.
