What a man. What a film.  A man who changes. And then changes again. Always growing. Always aiming to be more in an environment that does not want him to. They want him to be one thing. A thing they can understand. His defiance is his changing. His growth. And the desire that others do the same.  Opening with the flag burning into the x  and the Rodney King beating is such a powerful way to start. The scale blew me away.  Denzel is peak.  Spike had his style and attention to detail all over this and it’s incredible.  That’s dance number is wild! Better than some musicals  Costumes in the 40s are perfect.  Nelson Mandela at the in is crazy.  Bill Cosby jump scare at the end of the credits. I learned so much. I’m changed.  THATS A GOOD MOVIE.
