Batman: Year One

I like Batman. This movie is a very faithful adaptation of one of the best Batman stories. Bryan Cranston is very good casting for Jim Gordon and his performance is aided by the medium of animation. Speaking of animation, it’s not all that great in this instance tbh but I don’t really have a problem with it, it’s fine enough whatever. Since it’s essentially a 1:1 adaptation, this probably isn’t the platform from which to critique the plot but I’d still like to point out that Gordon’s affair is an oddly unnecessary addition to the story and doesn’t really contribute thematically I don’t think. Like it kinda just makes me not like him all that much but ig it’s just Frank Miller Frank Millering idk. This narrative is very Gordon-centric which is a refreshing and unique perspective that harkens back to Detective Comics 27 but I’d still prefer a little more Batman time in my Batman tale pretty please. Idk if I actually agree with that tbh it’s very late at the moment and I forgot what I was doing. I like this cartoon. Batman is very cool.
