AlphaGo
I should start this off by admitting I cried to a documentary about a board game and ai and have since downloaded that board game and have started taking lessons.
I would recommend this doc to everyone. You don’t need to know about Go or AI, what will draw you in is the spectacle, the music, the drama, the characters, the real world implications. If you have any conflictions or hesitations about ai I would especially recommend this to you!
One it’s a very fun vehicle of watching something important.
Two we learn more about humans than we do ai and how ai has learned from us and how we can learn from it and discover new bounds of knowledge. (Move 37, move 78, and slacker moves)
This is also a different side of ai that a lot of people don’t see in the 2024 media landscape.
Key members of this team went on and won the Nobel prize in chemistry in 2024 for their ai research contributions to help predict protein structures.
But this me trying to justify it and convince you to watch it but this made me feel a lot of things and feel confused and I downloaded the game.
So yeah. Byeee!
