Avengers: Endgame
A generational movie, whether you enjoyed it or not. Its insane how they managed to create a fairly coherent and satisfying end to the saga.
The expostion hour at the beginning is a mess in my opinion. Captain Marvel comes off as a douche, they somehow manage to destroy Hulk as a charachter even further, Thor's depression is a giant joke with no payoff and Tony is still a twat. Albeit he was near death so you could give him some grace, but its hard for me to imagine he'd act any other way even if he was healthy. The time travel explainy bits and how it all magicaly came together is lazy but given the scale of the film its excusable. Definatly the worst 3rd of the film.
The Time Heist was pretty cool. Awesome seeing moments and locations from other movies, and charachters interacting with eachother that would never have met. Bruce and the Ancient One's scenes are pretty great. The stars for this arc are definitly the Hawkeye Black Widow scene, and the Cap, Tony and Howard Stark scenes.
Lastly the movie does well to get to the point ASAP. The big 3 fighting thanos and Cap wielding the hammer is fucking awesome. Also Cap standing against a whole army alone, followed by the "on your left" scene is fantastic. From there on its big CGI battle time, and as far as those go its pretty good. They do a good job of giving each hero their moment (mostly). Bar Wanda and Captain Marvel, the only moment the female charachters get is the "she's got help" scene and it is disghustingly lazy and one of the worst scenes in marvel. Pepper in an Iron Man suit makes 0 sense, but i guess they needed her to be there for Tonys death. Still dumb. Otherwise pretty awesome and a great ending to Tonys story coming full circle with what started this whole ten year story: "I am Iron Man".
All in all, pretty unbelievable how they managed this. Infinty War still clears. Cap is the best Avenger.
And Iron Man is still a bit of a knob.
