Adolescence
“I should’ve done better” *- Eddie Miller*Adolescence is an insanely good series. I honestly needed a couple of TikTok videos to fully understand some of the details, which just shows how layered and smart it is.
Owen Cooper the actor you are deserved absolutely every award for this role. I genuinely can’t believe this was his first acting job. His performance feels so raw and natural that it’s almost uncomfortable to watch at times, in the best way possible. This kid has got one bright future and i can’t wait to see more of him.🙌🏼I really, really wanted Jamie to be innocent, and I believed in that until the last 20 minutes. The way the show slowly messes with your perception and makes you question everything is brutal. I was watching episode three in disbelief at how good it was. The scene where Briony can’t bring herself to touch the sandwich Jamie was eating, knowing everything he told her, is haunting. The sandwich represents the girl he claims he doesn’t like it when in reality he does. He’s dishonest, and that moment says more than any dialogue ever could. And the way the series is filmed? Absolutely unbelievable. The fact that everything was shot in one take makes it even more intense and immersive. There’s no escape, no pause you’re forced to sit with the characters and their emotions the entire time.
Overall, Adolescence is disturbing, smart, and incredibly well-made. It stays with you long after you finish watching, and that’s what makes it so powerful
