86% - 95%: amazing for what it's trying to do
-Yet again, I got so much secondhand embarrassment and cringe that it took me 30 min longer to finish it, but it's not completely my fault because it was kind of its thing.
-Dylan O'Brien's (Roman) acting was phenomenal, especially his monologue on the bed.
-James Sweeney's (Dennis) acting was the weakest for me. He delivered the offbeat and slightly strange but still charming vibe at the beginning of the film, which was great. Towards the end, when bigger performances were needed, is when I saw some cracks, but it was still impressive for such a short-acting resume.
-Where James truly shone was in his directing and writing. He clearly has a set vision, and I think he delivered. The symbolism with the framing was so tasteful, and there were some really cool transitions as well.
-The plot had me guessing for most of the film what was real about Dennis, and I really enjoyed that.
-I loved that Marcie (Aisling Franciosi) wasn't stereotypical and evil. She showed that being earnest can get you what being fake can't.
Scott Hunter, what are you doing in my falafel?
