I Origins
“My atoms have known your atoms and they’ve always known your atoms. My atoms have always loved your atoms.”
It’s a film that stayed with me long after the credits rolled. It explores love, science, and the mysteries that connect us in ways we can’t always explain. The quote above struck me deeply.
It reminded me of someone who I love, who once said to me: “we are like Dalton’s atomic model, so different, yet inseparable.” At the time, I didn’t fully realize how much truth was in those words. Different, yes. But also bound together in a way that felt impossible to undo.
Watching this brought that feeling back. The beauty of being connected to someone beyond logic, beyond explanation. It’s a film about searching for proof, but what it really captures is that love doesn’t need proof. It exists, stubbornly, quietly, even when the person is gone.
That’s maybe why this film meant so much to me. It put into words and images what I can’t stop feeling. That some bonds don’t just vanish. They linger, like atoms that have always known each other, even when they drift apart.
