See Know Evil

Such a tragically beautiful story that I will always revisit. I discovered his photography when I was 15 and watched this documentary for the first time when I was 16. Of course every time  I revisit this film I’m older, and each time it’s like I’m watching it with a new set of eyes. The experiences of Davide and even those of who he was surrounded by are ones that I will probably never understand, but despite this, even getting a glimpse into their art processes and the way they loved whether it be through romance or friendship is a comfort that couldn’t be replicated. I’m a month away from being the age Davide was when he died and with that I hope that within my whole lifetime I am able to create something with even a fraction of the talent and intimacy he did in his 20 years.  What an incredible artist!
