Challengers
Challengers is immaculately made and borderline evil in how much tension it creates. The camera, the editing, the score everything works together to make tennis feel intimate, violent, and obsessive. Every rally feels like a conversation loaded with desire, resentment, and ego. I felt this movie in my bones.
What I really loved is how the film dismantles the idea that talent equals destiny. Just because you’re good at something doesn’t mean it will save you or that you’re meant to do it forever. Sometimes it just becomes a prison. By the final match, winning barely matters. It’s about control, obsession, and who needs it more.
And Zendaya… unreal. I loved seeing a woman who knows how much power she has and isn’t afraid to use it. Watching that level of self-awareness play out how power can be magnetic, strategic, and destructive at the same time is endlessly compelling.
